Remote Diagnostics Latest Developments
2005-09-08
We have recently completed the first phase of a Small Business Innovative Research Project to develop a molecular sensor. This sensor will be placed in potato cellars to effect early detection of disease. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Remote Diagnostics recently received a Phase 2 grant to commercialize this technology.
The implications of such technology are amazing. In the case of the molecular sensor, a farmer can save thousands of dollars per year while being able to keep a larger percentage of their harvested crop. In today’s world where a rapidly growing population is threatening the future of our global food supply, this is both a significant and exciting advance for Remote Diagnostics and molecular sensor technology.
